Another Trip to the Zoo

A couple of weeks ago, we took Ava to the zoo for her second trip. It was so hot, as soon as we walked in, Adam and I began to wonder what in the world we were thinking - we should have waited until it was cooler.

Ava just loves animals and would laugh at them as we walked along the path.

We thought we would see how she would react to the giraffe, but she didn't seem to be too sure of what was going on...she wanted to see them, but as soon as they got close she would back away

My Mom turns....

I said I would refrain from making comments about how 50 seems so old and how 50 is the halfway point of a century,I said I would refrain from even using the word/number 50, so instead, I will show you some pictures of the surprise party we had for my mom turning......

If any of you girls know anything about men, you know they don't pay attention to details, if they did we might start to question their masculinity :) That being said, my dad mentioned to me several weeks prior to my mom's .... birthday about have a surprise party and I said yes, we need to do something since it his her ..... I never heard anything more until about 2 weeks before her birthday, when I went to him and said that we needed to plan something or it was going to be too late. After much prying on my part, we put a few plans into place and started making phone calls. Surprise parties always seem to do best when you plan at the last minute anyways, so it all worked out.


My mom, the ..... year old, had absolutely no idea when she walked thru the doors- The first person she saw was me, holding a camera (go figure) and I could tell by her expression she thought it was a surprise of just a few family members....once she had made it all the way thru the door she soon found out otherwise. There were about 40 family members and friends ready to celebrate her turning .....
