Let it Snow!

Here she is crying laughing at all the funny faces trying to get her to smile at the camera!

We took our annual trip to my grandmother's house to visit and go skiing. We weren't able to go last year as I was pregnant and Adam wouldn't let me near the ski slopes...even though he is the one who has trouble staying upright on the skis! It snowed the few days before we drove up so we had a great base to ski on and even some for Ava to play in. Grammy bought her a snowsuit. It was the only one we could find in 0-3 month size. She looked like a marshmallow puff! It was so cute. Of course we wouldn't let her get her hands into the snow since I was afraid she might get too cold, we did put some on our fingers and let her taste it, I don't think she knew what to think. At this age, taking her to see the snow was more for our enjoyment than hers. We took her out to the slopes and let her watch everyone ski, it was beautiful weather!

Our Strawberry Marshmallow Puff!

Our futile attempt to make a snow angel, Ava apparently wasn’t wanting any part of the “angel” can’t you see?

We had a great time and surprisingly Ava did very well on both the trip up and down. On the way up, she slept about 6 hours of it and still slept that night (thank goodness). On the way back down was a different story, she slept a total of 1.5 hours the entire trip back. Not to fear however, Baby Einstien and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was there to save the day, or else we would have probably gone insane! She played, watched a movie, played, ate, played, watched a movie....you get the point. We were so proud of how she did, of course, once we got back home I set her in her crib and she just stretched and stretched after being in the car seat all day.

5 Months Old

Ava turned 5 months old on February 5...I can't believe it. (I think I say that every month). She has grown so much, both in size, attentiveness, and personality. She really is a happy baby, unless she is hungry or fighting sleep. She can sit up unassisted, it just isn't very straight yet, she holds her self up with her hands. She has started, just barely, to scoot. She can roll, both tummy to back and back to tummy, but doesn't really have a lot of interest in doing so. She would much rather do crunches and try to sit up on her own. She has the sweetest laugh (istn' that what all moms say?). She also, we have recently learned, loves to play with Nana's calculator, she will literally reach for it when she sees it and sit there playing with it until she is tired. Its really quite funny. My baby girl is growing up so fast. I love watching her learn new things and seeing the world through her eyes, but I hate the fact she is growing up....so bittersweet. She hit a growth spurt around this past month and grew overnight out of Newborn size clothes and diapers into 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers. Yep, you read it right, we have offically out grown Newborn clothes...at 4 and 1/2 months, I would say its about time. Oh, and we don't say this too loudly around her,  but she now has a double chin!!! :)

First Night(s) Away

We took a mini trip to Orlando for the Shot show, well, Adam and my Dad went to the shot show, my mom and I went shopping. Ava did very well, Adam and I on the other hand were so concerned we would wake our "neighbors" up at the hotel when she woke up crying to eat in the middle of the night that neither of us slept soundly. We stayed 2 nights, so it was a nice trial run for future trips. We went shopping both Saturday and Sunday. Everywhere we went, people commented on Ava and how sweet she was...of course we had to agree. On Saturday night we all went to eat at this place, Bergamo's, it was soooo neat. During our dinner we were entertained by our waiters/waitresses singing to us along with a piano. They sang mostly show tunes, but would sing just about anything you requested. If you ever travel down it is a must do.

Kelly's Game

We took Ava to see JU play and her cousin Kelly cheer. The game was in the Arena downtown, we had a lot of fun and for awhile, Ava wasn't too sure what was going on...she was very into the game and we believe she kept wondering why they were throwing the football on the ground?! We have learned 2 things about Ava, she likes sports and and she likes music....hmmmm....it seems she is a lot like her daddy!

Oh, it also seems as though Ava is a good luck charm for JU, both games we have been to, they have won :)
