Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Ava's first Easter was a busy one! It started out on Tuesday night going to the Senior Adult dinner that Adam played for, luckily, we were home fairly early...you know Senior Adults! On Wednesday, we went to the Youth service where Adam played and spoke only after I walked up to the church since Adam left the lights on in the Car and it wouldn't start...I told him when I walked in that I was such a good wife! :) I grudgingly gladly jumped out and grabbed the stroller, transferred all of Ava's things, and off we went. On Thursday night, Adam played and spoke again, but this time was for the Singles....I can honestly say I was worn out after working every day and running each place at night. On Friday, my grandparents came out to my mom's and we had dinner and Ava received her Easter basket from my parents and a cute outfit and book from my grandmother. (She had already received a basket with a bunny earlier in the week from them). On Saturday we were lazy! Preparing for Sunday. We did dye Easter eggs and Ava could have cared less, until we put the pink and purple ones in front of her, then she wanted to beat them on her tray, good thing they were hard boiled!

On Easter, we had a visit from the Easter bunny. Ava received several new toys. Her Memaw had given her a couple of toys, a Zoo toy and a gumball machine (obviously not real gumballs). So we put the zoo toy out with her basket and other toy. After checking out what the Easter Bunny brought we got ready for church and headed out the door, then out the the camp in Georgia for my side of the family's get together. The weather has always cooperated with us and it is so relaxing out there, everyone just does their own thing, eating, riding 4-wheelers, eating, fishing, eating, hanging out, more eating.... do you see a trend here? After a couple hours out there, we went to Adam's parents house to see his side of the family. Adam's mom and dad bought Ava a few things, an outfit, some rubber ducks, and several books with her favorite characters- the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse pals.

Eating her yogurt melts the bunny left for her- she loves them!

When we finally made it back home that night, about 8, I was worn out and so was Ava! We fed her dinner, gave her a bath and put her to bed. I have decided that I need to take the day after any holiday off so I can rest up from the holiday!

7 Months Old

Ava turned 7 months old on April 5....I can't believe my baby is growing up! She is acting so grown as well. She sits up very good and will play by herself and be happy about it. She now has 2 teeth!! The first one came thru about 6 ½ months and the second one followed closely behind it. She isn't crawling around, but that's partly due to my lack of encouragement in that area and the fact that everyone is always holding her! She notices so many things now and especially when you leave the room, I feel a little separation anxiety starting to form. Each day is a new experience with her and I look forward seeing what new feat she is learning. We have been so blessed with a good, happy baby, every time I look at her I thank God for blessing us with her, our lives are so different now and we are both always tired, never seem to have a chance to have time to ourselves, but we wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Zoo Day

We took Ava to the Zoo last week. It has been years (like 10 or 15) since I have been to the zoo. Adam and I both decided we should come more often. Why is it that we don't seem to take advantage of the fun things around where we live? Anyways, we weren't sure how Ava was going to recact towards the animals, but we know she loves our dog and really any other dog she comes into contact with, so we set out for our adventure.

She was very interested in everything! She sat up in her stroller so se could get a better view. We did fix her hat so she could see a little better...

Something was obviously funny or exciting

Daddy and Ava looking at the Otters, she loved watching them swim, but she had a hard time keeping up with them when they disappeared under water. She would find them again after they popped up.

Watching the birds walk across the path
Daddy and Ava at the Jaguar exhibit
We walked out to the dock they have at one end of the zoo and the wind was blowing pretty good. I stopped to get a few pictures of Ava and realized she was making some funny faces when the wind hit her face.... here are a few...

Ava ended up falling asleep after about 2 1/2 hours and Adam and I walked the rest of the zoo. I know this will end up being a favorite place of hers to visit as she gets older.
