Ava turns 5!

On September 5th, my big girl turned 5!!! She had school that morning, so we got up extra early so we could have time to open presents and she had her favorite (very nutritious) breakfast of powdered sugar doughnuts. We also made brownies to take to her class so she was excited about the day! 

Every year on her birthday morning, we play this ‘Happy Birthday Princess’ song and she loves it, so this birthday morning was no different.



At 5 years old Ava is right at 47” tall, she wears a size 12 or 12.5 shoe and has moved into a size 6, which means good-bye sweet little girl clothes *tear*. She has learned to snap, whistle and ride a bike, some big achievements for 5th year of life! She has also



She is independent, oh boy is she, she thinks she is able to do anything and everything as good or even better than we can…grrrr… but I’m pretty sure I know where she got that from…



She was so excited to open some presents. We let her open a few before school. I don’t know that I’ve met a child  that likes games more than my child, she absolutely LOVES them. We have so much fun playing Quelf as adults, we bought her the Quelf Jr game. We all played it the next night and laughed and laughed and laughed! It made us do silly things, but it was fun!



We surprised her and told her we were taking her to the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Disney the next week. She also received some Ariel treasure books to read.



After school, her Gigi and I took her to be pampered. She received the royal treatment

When I asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday dinner, since we were having her party the following Saturday, she said she wanted to eat at the Chicken House… we are all about fine dinning here. So I bought a cake and Nana, Mom, and Dad met us up there to eat.



Later that evening, I think she had wore herself out, which means a successful day if you ask  me! She had fallen asleep on the couch and wouldn’t wake up even when I tried. So that night, I put my big 5 year old to bed for the first time . Happy Birthday, Ava!
