Christmas Eve’s Eve

IMG_90781

Thursday before Christmas we did Christmas with Adam’s family. We had loaded up shortly after I got home from work and headed out to run a few errands before heading to Adam’s parents’ house. After running errands, we were almost there when Ava acted a little weird, just out of character for her. She kept saying she was cold and asked to cover up with Adam’s jacket in the back seat, even though it wasn’t cold in the car.

It hadn’t even been 5 minutes after we arrived that Ava got sick and threw up! After cleaning her up and getting her a drink of water she seemed to feel better and eventually was back to her old self jumping around.  She got some on her shirt so we had to find her something different to wear while we washed her shirt. She was never super interested in eating much, but that can be normal for her if there is stuff going on, no time to eat!! :)

After her shirt had been washed and dried we started opening presents. I knew already, the best way to handle presents was let her open one and if she wants to play with it, let her. I wasn’t going to rush any part of it.

The method worked out great, everyone else took turns opening their presents while she played with her new gift, and then she would realize she had more to open and curiosity would get the best of her and she would open another one.

She loved all of her presents and played with them while she stayed home with Daddy while I had to work the next day.

As far as the unexplained sickness, she received a doctor’s kit to help diagnose the problem…and we still couldn’t figure it out. She woke up the next day (Christmas Eve) with a mild fever, but it didn’t last too long. So we still aren’t really sure what happened.

After her fever she never had another symptom. What made it even more odd was that Ava’s cousin Raeleigh, had the same exact symptoms at the same time as Ava, but by Christmas Eve night was fine. Who knows?!

How many people does it take to see if a shoe fits? 3 apparently….

I will say, after seeing how well Ava did with presents and how much fun she had with her gifts I was really excited for Christmas morning with her!

AB had something similar the night we were in Orlando for Disney... she threw up, had a little fever and then was FINE... I think she just caught a mild flu bug... or since we got the flu mist, it didnt affect her as much.. ??? who knows!!! :)
