Date Night with our Small Group

  

To say we have the best small group ever would be the understatement of the year! We love our group and have had so much fun with them! We finished our study and it was so close to the holidays we didn’t want to start another one until after the new year. We knew that schedules would be interrupted and people would be out of town so we created something that would make each night we got together something special. We may have a themed dinner night or movie night or like this particular night- a date night. I took one of the dates Adam and I had done on the great date experiment and tweaked it a little to make it work in a group setting. We all met at Outback for our appetizer and we had to answer a few questions. I had went through and moved some of the more personal questions to the homework section of the date (basically questions I felt they would gain more from if they answered them just between spouses), but everyone still learned a lot about each other from the simple questions :)

From there we loaded up, all 8 adults!, in a tahoe and drove to our dinner spot. Chris kindly took the picture, so he is missing from it, but yep, we all crammed in there….don’t you wish you could have been in the car with us?!

Adam and all 6’4” of him squeezed in the back for the first leg of the ride. I’m telling you- it would have been funny watching all of us unfold from this thing! At least we didn’t have far to go!

There was a wait at the place we were going to eat dinner, so we headed over to do another part of our date- the Dollar Tree. Here everyone was to spend $2 on their spouse, so basically 2 things, and it had to be meaningful. We had so much fun in there, as evidenced by the 2 posing as a cowboy and cowgirl :)

 

Jim had a hard time staying away from funny gifts :) Lisa and I had to keep deterring him- haha!

After we had all bought our gifts we walked back to eat dinner and exchange our gifts. All kidding aside everyone did great with their gifts, and you knew thought was put into it. We answered a few more questions at dinner and then headed to dessert.

Since we were all pretty full from eating appetizers and dinner, we decided to just hit Starbucks and answer our last set of questions before calling it a night. We had such a great time and I think it did everyone’s marriage good to spend the night focused on each other, plus I think homework helped a little in that area as well ;)
