Ava Elisabeth is here!

What started out early Friday morning at a Doctor's appointment as a routine check quickly escalated from there. My blood pressure was high and I also had a little bit of protein in my urine which could only mean 1 thing- preeclamsia. The issue was now how severe was it. So she wanted to send me to the hospital to monitor my blood pressure. So I went back and finished up a few things at work, grabbed my bags and headed to the hospital. Once we were there, Dr. Long took a few looks at me and decided he wanted to deliver me. Now, the only problem was that she was breeched so it was going to be by c-section. For some strange reason, I wasn't really nervous about it, I guess I knew I was in good hands with my doctor. We had a few hours to notify everyone and our little girl was going to be born. After everyone making it to the hospital (and when I say everyone, I mean EVERYONE!) There had to be at least 30 family members there- You can't help but see that the little girl is already so blessed and loved! At 6:54 pm on September 5, 2008, Ava was born, 5 lbs 12 ozs. She was 3 1/2 weeks early so there was concern for the maturity of her lungs however, everything checked out fine. Here are a few pictures, and there will be many more on the way!
