Easter Bunny Visits

IMG_4628

The Easter Bunny always comes to visit our house on the Saturday before Easter. Years ago we asked him to hop over on Friday night because it makes for a much smoother Easter Sunday (plus we are able to focus on the real reason we celebrate Easter) and it has become a tradition that works well for us!

This year it took Ava a little longer to find her basket, the bunny must have realized he had been hiding her baskets way to easy, so he stepped it up a little. This year it was hidden behind the curtain and she found it, but it did take her a little while. Adam also received his basket full of goodies at which point Ava asked why I didn’t get one… hmmm… I guess we will have to make a note of that for Mr. Bunny!

Easter this year was a little off, details of why will come but I haven’t finished that particular post. So it was no surprise when the day before, we hadn’t even thought of coloring eggs. Gigi to the rescue, she had a dye kit and stopped by to drop something off and spent time with Ava coloring her eggs. (All 6 of them- I didn’t even have a full dozen to color- shame!)

I was busy working on shirts for the next day-(more to come on that)- but Ava was able to color some eggs and of course you knew they were going to be either princesses or fairies. They turned out really cute with their wings!

It wasn’t really an Easter devoted to traditions, but we did go through our resurrection eggs, opening a new egg each night leading up to Easter. Each night we would make Ava repeat the story about the ones we had already done- it’s such a great learning tool so by Easter she could tell the whole story!

I also can’t end this post without showing you Big Papa delivering a basket full of goodies to Ava when they were coming through town earlier in the week! Smile
