Disney….again!

IMG_4444

Since we have passes for Disney, we decided to take advantage of the coolerish weather and on a whim head down to Disney. Yes, I know, we were just there 2 weeks ago, but its Florida and its about to be hot, really hot Disney is not somewhere I want to be when its hot! I had made this bucket full of surprises for Ava when we headed to Disney the last time and completely forgot it in the closes, so when we woke her up (early) the morning we were leaving, I had it sitting in her car seat. It helped pass the time in the car.

When we made into Disney, Adam and Ava both wanted to ride Pirates (of course) so we headed over that way and realized that they were about to do a pirate show. Jack Sparrow used to pose for pictures with the visitors, but has since stopped doing that, so this is the only way you can see him, other than in the ride. We were standing right at the front, some of the first ones there, so we had the best view. Poor Adam, they both ended up picking on him calling him a giant blueberry (since he towers over everyone and was wearing a blue shirt!) Ava thought it was the greatest.

Jack Sparrow did a great job- he had the mannerisms and speech down to perfection! At the end they choose a few volunteers (kids) to sword fight with the Captain and then have all the kids come up on the stage and say the Pirates Oath. We tried and tried to get Ava to do it, but she wouldn't...she needed her buddies Brody and Trevor for this part!

Since we had been there last time, they had opened a new area- Rapunzel's village- its really just bathrooms, but Ava thought it was just so neat!

Ava enjoyed eating in Belle's castle so much that she asked over and over again if we could go back, so we ate lunch inside. Its really good food, I typically am not crazy about theme park food- I enjoy the snacks/desserts- but for the actual food- its ehh... It doesn't help that I don't eat meat, but the menu at the castle has good meatless options.

This time we went and explored the rooms a little more. Inside the West Wing its decorated just like the West Wing in the movie, complete with the rose.

Of course the teacup ride was a must.

We rode on Cinderella's Carousel and found Cinderella's horse! See how it has the gold ribbon tied around the tail, its the only one like that and its said to be Cinderella's horse.

I have to say, I LOVE the new Dumbo ride set up. You go in and the kids can play in this play area and you are given a buzzer. When its your time to ride, the buzzer goes off and you are on the next ride- its so hard to wait in line with kids, but this way, Adam and I sat down, watched her play and talked- in air conditioning (can you say Hallelujah for this when its in the dead of summer?!)

Guess who scored top score on Buzz?! You got it! But I didn't get a fancy button like Aunt Ann did!

AND FOR ALL OF YOU WHO ARE WONDERING, I DID NOT DROP MY CAMERA THIS TIME!!!  You can see the black strap safely secured around my neck- I don't think I will ever make that mistake again!

IMG_4497

Ava wanted to ride with her Daddy, they look a little out of it, don't they?

Of course, no visit is complete without a visit to see the princesses!

It was a nice family day. We ended up leaving fairly early (in terms of theme park times) since we were driving back. Its nice having passes for this reason, you don't feel like you have to stay all day/night to get your money's worth. We pulled through Chick-fil-a on the way home (the new salads are great and the one in Celebration was part of the test market for them, so until they had them back home we liked eating at the one in Celebration) its food we enjoy with no hassle and not nearly as much money! Oh and by the way, here is a tip for all you Disney-goers... Any restaurant that sells fountain drinks will give you ice water for free, so every time we go to Disney, we each carry a water bottle and keep it filled with ice water and it costs us nothing. You don't have to have a water bottle, we just prefer it since it keeps it colder and we can carry it wherever we go without it spilling :)
