Wedding Weekend part 2

While the bridal party was spending the morning getting ready for that evening's festivities, we headed over to the mall to do a little shopping. And before you think poor Adam, let me just say, we were shopping for him. I didn't even have the opportunity to look for myself! Ava and Mom checked out a few places and rode the carousel that is in the middle of the mall (who knew Winston-Salem was such a big place- it has the biggest mall in NC...) while Adam and I searched for a new coat for him to wear. We found one it was a killer deal- regularly $250 we walked out the door with it for $68. It helps that we were shopping in NC where it actually gets cold and they had all their coats on sell, because, well, if you lived in North Carolina you weren't shopping for a coat the last week of the year- you already had one. He looks nice in it, but hasn't worn it yet! Thanks Florida...



After loosing track of time, we rushed back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. Wake's colors are black and gold (or champagne as I would label it) so they asked everyone to wear black and/or gold. We dressed the part well!



While we were waiting for Roro, Meggie, and Matt to make it downstairs, Adam took the opportunity to serenade all of us with a little music. He certainly looked the part, even sounded like it as well- others walking by probably thought he really was the hotel's pianist!



Ava had been dying to see Cait in her 'princess dress' (weren't we all?!) She was so perfect- and sweet to Ava, she had told Ava that she could come see her before the ceremony. There aren't words to describe how much that meant to Ava, she was beside herself and couldn't wait to see her! Just proves it really is the little things- that was greater than any gift Ava could ever have gotten- to see Caitlin and the bridesmaids all dressed up- it was princess perfect! Then the icing on the cake was that Auntie Ann, asked for Ava to sit with her on the 2nd row. Uncle Scott would be next to Garrett, so she would be sitting by herself and insisted Ava join her, so we had front row seats to the whole ceremony. Aunt Ann even let her stand in front of her so she could see Caitlin walk down the isle. Luckily Ava slept a little during the ceremony so she could party it up later on!



Afterwards we all stayed around to take pictures then head over to the reception

 



The reception was a lot of fun- the best part was probably the photo booth that was set up. We took way to many pictures in it, those will come in another post!



So Ava took a picture with Garrett and Caitlin and Caitlin insisted Garrett hold her for one picture-since technically she is his cousin...so Cait passed Ava off to him and oh. my. word. I don't think I've seen a more awkward hand-off ever! Caitlin and I couldn't help but laugh at him!



After dinner, Garrett and Caitlin had their first dance, they had been taken lessons. Then everyone started to dance- I don't think anyone had their shoes on by the time the night was over.





It was a fun night and we were all tired and ready to crawl into bed. We had breakfast planned with everyone  in the morning and then a long ride home.
