Wedding Weekend

I've never been this far behind on the blog, so I'm going to attempt to catch you up on 3 months of our lives...

The weekend after Christmas, we headed North to Winston-Salem. We would spend a few days on and around the campus of Wake Forest for my cousin's wedding. We left Thursday so we could be there for all of the festivities and to help in any way possible. Poor Adam, he was in charge of a bunch of women! Dad was supposed to come but the store was super busy with guns since the talk of some type of weapons ban- everyone wanted to get them while they still could, which is great for business, but bad for time away. So Adam chauffered us around- he is such a trooper.

On Friday morning, the girls headed for a Bridal luncheon while Adam, after dropping us off, headed to find a guitar store. (And boy did he find one, with an interesting story to tell, but it isn't necessarily blog-friendly). Ava was able to meet her little cousin Eva for the first time. Eva just turned 1 and it was love at first sight- Eva and Caitlin were the only ones that mattered that weekened in Ava's eyes!

Aunt Gwen, Barbara, and Emily were the hostesses of the luncheon and they did such a good job! It was a lot of fun and super nice. Emily even made 'black and gold' cake pops to match the them of the wedding.

After a delicious lunch, Caitlin took pictures with everyone, because of course, everyone wants to be near the bride!

She was so sweet to Ava. Actually she is so sweet to everyone- she will be the perfect addition to our family. In all honestly, we all felt as though she was already a part of our family, the wedding just made it official!

Ava loves Auntie Ann- probably because she will act like a little kid with Ava! :)

Such a Diva! At least we were able to wear winter clothes, we hadn't had the chance to in Florida yet!

After the luncheon, we headed over to Reynolda Hall on WF's campus to help decorate for the rehearsal.

After setting up the rehearsal, we headed back to the hotel to rest and get ready. Ava was so cute and looked like a snow princess :)

The reception was so nice and relaxed- different people stood up to share stories, most of which were funny- but some sweet. Aunt Ann did a great job on the decorations. The seating chart was set up like a score board and there were baseballs, running trophies, and energy bars that were set up as the centerpieces. Each table was named after a different building on the campus of Wake Forest- it was cute and so Garrett and Caitlin. The kicker of the night was when all the cousins of Garrett stood up to sing the Beaver song- and if you don't know what that is, well you missed your one and only chance to see it happen- I don't think we will be having a reunion tour ;)
