Ava Elisabeth: Happy Anniversary to Us!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Late Sunday night we were awaken by a very sick little girl...isn't that how it always happens? At night? and right after a doctor's appointment?! So I spent the rest of Sunday night looking after her, holding a bag, wiping her face down...its really so pitiful when little one's are sick! I think I finally crawled back in bed about 5:00 am Monday morning. Needless to say I wasn't going to make it into work that day.

Well 7:00 rolls around and Ava has made a miraculous recovery. It was really something else. If my sleep deprived self hadn't said otherwise, along with the sheets and towels, I would have thought I dreamed the entire ordeal up. I on the other hand woke up with excruciating pain, nausea, fever, and just plain blah-ness.

Adam offered to stay home, but I figured Ava really wouldn't be feeling that spunky after a night like we had just been through, so I sent him on... Big Mistake! I ended up being miserable and couldn't move. I stayed in bed, other than the occasional dash to the bathroom, the entire morning. When I finally mustered up the strength to move into the living room around lunch time I thought I was going to pass out before I could make it.

Ya'll I am never this sick, when I get sick, its the kind that is like, yeah, I'm sick, but life goes on and I have to go with it. This was worse than I have ever been- ever! (And this is coming from someone who was sick her entire pregnancy, every morning, like clockwork, I would wake up, throw up, and go on about my day. 9 months of that, and this was still worse, by a long shot!).

When Adam finally came home I just laid there and moaned from pain and pure ickyness . I was grateful to have some help with Ava who never seemed better! This continued into Tuesday and we contemplated going to the emergency room. It would get so bad that I ended up laying on the bathroom floor trying to get some sort of relief. I actually had a meeting scheduled for Tuesday that we moved to Wednesday, but when I wasn't feeling much better by Wednesday morning, I made the guys promise to get the meeting finished quick so I could go back home. I sat at the opposite room of everyone to try and avoid getting everyone sick!

By the time I started feeling better I had gone 4 and a half days without food (or the ability to keep it down) so naturally I was very weak and had absolutely no energy!

Thursday, September 20th, was our 9th wedding anniversary and I spent it feeling a tad better than I had the 3 previous days. We decided to postpone any form of celebration until I was feeling better.

I was feeling much better by the weekend, so Saturday, Adam and I set out for a date. We decided to go to Seasons 52. Neither of us had eaten there and so we thought we would try it. They ended up setting us in a cozy corner and we enjoyed eating our meal together without being interrupted because someone had to go potty or constantly telling someone they needed to sit down, Oh and I can't even begin to tell you about the glorious conversation we were able to have!! ;)

After a nice evening, we picked Ava up and headed back home. I still wasn't back to full speed, and that was really the first non-bland meal I had eaten all week, so I didn't overdo it. Sunday morning we woke up to go to church and Adam had apparently caught whatever it was that I had and we ended up staying home with him sleeping all day.

Apparently my child has a bad case of the Mondays, because she started throwing up late Sunday evening and all night (again) on Sunday night. I've labeled her sickness Monday-Aversionitis! That was the last time we have all been sick, so hopefully it is gone for good! I don't ever want it to come back!

I know our anniversary didn't turn out exactly like we wanted it to turn out, but that is the good thing about us, we get to try it again next year ;) I told Adam as I was feeling yucky that even sick I wouldn't want to spend it with anyone else- he on the other hand would have probably enjoyed someone a little less germy at the moment! ;)

Howdy people ! nice story but I had no possibility to gasp the idea, the reason of this is that that I have had the hottest date in my whole life. And the girl was just handsome and cheerful. And I found her over there !

Thanks for your post. I also feel that laptop computers have gotten more and more popular lately, and now are sometimes the only type of computer used in a household. Simply because at the same time potentially they are becoming more and more reasonably priced, their processing power is growing to the point where they may be as strong as personal computers coming from just a few years back.
