Disney Adventures

 

Every year we travel down to Disney for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, this year was no different :) Ava was super excited to go. The last time we had visited Disney was back in May when Mom and I brought her down while Adam and Dad were hiking the Grand Canyon. It had been a year since Adam had been to Disney.



 

Adam's parents joined us for the trip- the last time they had been to Disney was sometime in the early 90's. I imagine there have been a lot of changes. Of course the new Fantasyland had just opened so Ava was itching to see everything. Our first visit was to see Ariel.

 



 

You should have seen the look on Ava's face when Ariel called her by name. (Note to self: Never go to Disney without her name on her shirt. Everyone called her by name and it made a magical trip even more magical!)



 

We picked up fastpasses for the Little Mermaid ride and stopped by to get some Pixie Dust in our hair...which by the way is still stuck to her scalp...a month later...it will probably come out just in time for our next trip in February- ha!

Ariel's ride is a lot like the Nemo ride in Epcot- but Ava loved it!



 

 

We also took Ava's Meme and Pappy on the Barnstormer. Funny story: We weren't really clear with Adam's mom on what type of ride the Barnstormer was. I mean its a kiddie roller coaster, but its a pretty fast kiddie roller coaster. So Adam videoed Ava (and you can see his mom in the car behind he and Ava) and all you hear through the video of the ride is Mrs. Karen screaming....lol! We also rode Dumbo since we were right next to it.



 

Ava ride the teacups with her Daddy and Pappy, I took one for the team in May and rode it with her since neither mom or I can really ride it and decided that would be it for me, I wasn't sure if I was going to make it! Thank goodness her Daddy doesn't mind riding it! We also rode Adam's favorite ride in Disney- Pirates of the Caribbean.



 

 

Then it was officially time to start the party! We happened to be walking by right after the official start time of the party and saw that Woody's Dance Party was going on, so we took Ava in to dance with Woody.



We rode Buzz Lightyear and before I show you the scores I want everyone to know Adam just knew he would kill me, there wasn't a chance he was going to let me show him up in front of his parents...



 

Final Score: 68, 900 to 157,800... I guess he got schooled! ha!

I had to take a picture because for some reason he can't ever seem to remember that he hasn't ever beat me! Hmmm....



 

We stopped by another dance party and Ava was able to dance with Chip n' Dale, Goofy, and Pluto. Then she stopped for a picture- quite the poser!



 

Then it was time to watch the parade and "snow" on main street



 

 

 

After the parade we bee-lined it straight for Mickey and Minnie and the Princesses. Minnie of course loved her outfit and oohed and ahhed over her Disney charm bracelet.





 

Fortunately we made in to see the princess just in time. We were the last group they let through. I would have had a highly disappointed child if she had missed her faves!





It was a wonderful trip- one of our top trips we take every year!



The next morning we woke up and stopped by the Lego store at downtown Disney before heading back home. Ava loves the new line of Lego "Friends" she has an entire town set up in her playroom- so it was a treat for her to see the life-sized lego friend in the store. She has talked about the life-sized ones since I took a picture with them while in NYC.



Of course she wanted to take a picture with her Daddy in front of the Hulk, couldn't leave him out!

We had a nice time and fortunately the weather was nice as well. Ava was especially glad Meme & Pappy could finally join her at her favorite place in the entire world!
