1 Year Old

On September 5th, 2009 Ava turned 1 year old. It seems impossible to think that I now have a 1 year old :) She has been such a blessing to everyone and I can't imagine life without her-actually, I wonder what I did in my spare time before her....She is walking pretty good now, occasionally she will just take off walking and not even care if we are following behind her, which only tells me that we do not have very much more time before she does this all the time and I spend ALL my time chasing her. She has finally started saying Mama- but its only when she is whining...hmmm....we are working on that. She will now wave on command and will say bye-bye and wave when we are leaving (at the same time). She is still such a good baby, or as a few family members have affectionately deemed her- the "angel baby". She has 8 teeth, but I believe those molars have started to work their way up and it will not be long before they pop thru. She weighs about 22 pounds and is 30" tall. At her 1 year check up they checked her hemoglobin and it was 14, which her pediatrician was very proud of and said she must be a really good eater (which anyone who is around us knows that she eats and eats and eats- and will just about eat anything...except meat, she isn't very crazy about that. So we are speculating at this point, she will take after me in the eating category, and no, not because she eats a lot for those of you who thought it :)





She has started dancing to music and loves to be the center of attention. She smiles all the time and has the cutest little laugh, especially when the tickle monster gets after her. I say this every time, but it is the most amazing thing to watch her learn and figure things out. I can't wait to see what the next year brings. I am sure it will be full of laughter and 2 exhausted parents ;)
